Over Summer...

Over summer i worked on a small bar that recently opened called The Cavern, my brief was to create a brand identity and publicity material. The main focus the Bar embellished was that the bar sold Real records and CD's as they were played so it is a big homage to music of all variety. Also i got commissioned to paint stencils of famous 50's artists to be put on the walls of one the rooms......see if you can guess them????

in response to the bar's ethos i decided to cut up different vinyls of different variety of music and put them together to form one vinyl and it works too!!! granted it sounds awful but it works.....

Below are the stencils i painted on the walls, they are bright and this is because we put U.V. lights up in the room which reacted with the paint and so made them vibrant off the walls to give a real 50's hippy vibe......

It's A Little Bit Weird!

came across this beauty of a website called it's a little bit weird and in it, this sculptor Fiona Banner has these decommisioned aircraft suspended in the tate britain. As you might know by now i am a plane fanatic and i just think it's great to see these old legends being gracefully exhibited instead of back in the scrap heap.......the Harrier and the sepcat jaguar are both fighter jets that have defended britain and beenin commission for years in the british air force....seeing them go from the sky was a sad moment and one that will be rare to see again......for more info on where the exhibit is etc visit:www.fionabanner.com
